Plastic Soul
The ClickaSlice has taken ten years to happen. So much has changed between my first prototype in 2013 to now, with the most important being the evolution of 3D printing as well as access to cloud-based CAD software. Expensive metal dyes used to make molds for parts are no longer necessary and I'm no longer restricted to the cost-prohitive, prefabricated metal parts used in the prototype. I'm able to create and print customized plastic parts in my family's dining room.
As a young adult I knew I wanted to "make things and sell them" but those things eluded me. This whole adventure has made me realize how much I enjoy making customized, niche tools and I look forward to working on more. It feels like I've come home and I didn't even have to leave.
